Piano and Voice for Youth (Ages 5-11)
Students at an early age can already reap the benefits of quality music education. In this course, young students are introduced to the basic building blocks of music through performing, singing, clapping, listening, and movement. The lessons include piano exploration, fun music games, note recognition, and rhythm activities. The lesson activities contribute to an enjoyable and fun learning atmosphere for the young student
Students in this age group perform quite well in music classes. In this course, students are gradually introduced to note reading. Learning to identify and recognize notes contribute greatly to the success of the lessons. Students learn the basics of music through note reading activites, fun music theory games, sightsinging, ear training, technique, and rhythmic dictation. Classes are designed according to the age level and differing learning styles of the students. A mix of classical and popular music is presented though books, handouts, and arrangements personally made by the instructor.
