Frequently Asked Questions
What does it mean that each recital is in-person, virtual, and by video?
All shows will feature students in-person, virtually, and via recorded video. In-person students will be on site while virtual students and recorded video students will be displayed on a standard size TV screen via Zoom at the recital location.
I can't be at the recital in-person but I would like to participate with a video recording. What do I do?
Participation in the recital even by submitting a video recording requires a recital fee. General admission for audience members is more for family, friends, and guests that want to see the recital in-person. It takes time to record the best video as well as setting up the video so that it can be played smoothly on a standard size TV Screen.
What is the Fall Recital?
Our Fall Recital is a relaxed celebration of piano, guitar, singing, and violin, and everything you or your child has learned this year. Our students are all levels: novices, beginners, intermediate, and advanced students. Adults, teens, kids, and preschoolers are all eligible to participate.
Where is the Fall Recital taking place?
The Spring Recital will be held at the common area space just outside Forte Music and Arts Academy.
Forte Music & Arts Academy
13499 Biscayne Blvd, Suite 105
North Miami, FL 33181
My child just started lessons, are they invited?
Absolutely, yes! Students are welcome to perform along with all of the other students who also just started this fall as well as kids who have been in lessons for years. It's a great mix of levels and ages, and "newbies" find it inspiring!
Will I be ready to perform? Is my child ready to perform in a recital?
Students of all ages and levels are capable of performing in the concert. Participants include complete beginners that have just started lessons to students that have been taking lessons for months or years.
Can we bring the family? Can we bring our friends?
Yes absolutely! Bring your friends and family. Invite friends and encourage your family members and friends to bring more family members and friends.
What will I or my child be performing?
The instructor has already started working with you or your child to make some decisions and work on several recital selections. Decisions on what to perform will be made in advance.
Do I need to bring my musical instrument to the performance?
It depends on your instrument. For piano and voice, you do not need to bring your instrument, however, you may bring your music book and/or sheet music. Guitar and violin students need to bring their own instrument and their music book/sheet music.
I have more than one child in lessons - will they be together?
Absolutely - we always pair siblings together that are close in age. On occasion, if one child is much younger and the other one is significantly older, they will perform on the same day but be featured at different times in order to group the students by age.
Since the recital is indoors, what happens if it rains?
The show will go on as scheduled. Rain or shine!
If you have any questions, please let me know and we will be glad to help.
